Question

I have a 86 iroc and it just started overheating a few days ago I have had it for about a year and everything has been great until now the only thing I notice previously is some white smoke only when I start it and occasionally smell antifreeze the temp gauge is broken but everytime I shut the car off I have spillage. It only has 60000 miles and runs perfect otherwise I would love it someone could point me in the right direction. pleassssseee.

First thing, don,t ever run a car with out a temp guage.Theres no telling whats wrong with the engine now, because you don,t really know how hot you got it without a guage. Most likely from what you said about the white smoke, its probably head or gasket problems.About the leakage problem, fill and pressure test the cooling system ,this is done by putting a pressure pump at the radiator fill neck pump it to 12 to 15 lbs.Again I stress TEMP GUAGE, OIL PRESSURE GUAGE.Don,t leave home without it.!!
