I just upgraded my '67 to hei, and now when it warms up and I try to turn the engine off I get "dieseling". when I do get it to turn off and try to restart it wont and my carb spits. this is only when I use the new power wire from the fuse box, If I use the resistsnce wire it runs just fine. I set my timing at 9B it runs fine, should it be set at something else? its a 327 300-350hp.
When doing this conversion do I need to get '75 spark plugs too?

Try a new set of R44 plugs with a gap of .045. The 75 year spark plugs should be a tapered base plug which is a different animal than the 67 type. The wire from the fuse box may have some stray voltage from somewhere, maybe a backfeed from the alternator. Good way to do this is to connect a new piece of wire to the resistor wire connector at the firewall and do away with the resistor wire. The HEI is usually a problem free swap. Big improvement too.
