I'm guessing it's a late model camaro with an automatic pull down for the rear hatch??

If it has power and a good ground and still doesnt work, it's probably time to replace it. No user servicable parts!

Cool

I have learned one can service the parts of the motor/transmission.

Usually what breaks is the spur gear strips and the housing cracks. Both are replaceable items, depending on the dealer parts person.

Should be able to fix for under $40, if as PDQ suggests the motor still works, otherwise, its thick wallet time, $240?.

Greetings My1stCamaro,
in your post you did not give any specifics as to exactly what type of problem you are experiencing with the trunk motor. a few more specifics will help greatly towards solving your problem. Also, if you do have to replace it, you can find them at most good junkyards for a reasonable price. Also what year car is your's?
