how do you adjust the TV Cable on a 700r4 to make it shift at higher rpm

the tv cable is adjusted by connecting to the linkage on the carb/TBI/TPI and just pulling the throttle full open and releasing,assuming that it is still connected to the computer on the housing with a four pin connector.

to make it shift at a higher rpm you need to modify the valve body with a shift kit available from the aftermarket, like B&M.

I respectfully disagree with danhon on both his recomondations. You need your TV to carb/TBI/TPI set up properly. The TV controls both when and how hard your 700 will shift. I'm not a tranny guy but I have a 700 in my '69 and don't want anyone to lunch a tranny based on advice given here. Angles as well as pull make things work!!

Contact www.700r4.com they will work with you to make sure you do it correctly.
