the egr valve was removed from my car by the previous owner....what are the upsides and downsides of this?
and what advantages/disadvantages can i expect if i reintall one?
its a 1984 305 engine camaro z28 w/ auto trans

Probably won't notice it too much because it comes into effect when cruising.

That is as long as it is in good mechanical shape between the needle & seat and the diaphrarm doesn't crack creating a vacuum leak plus of course too the intake/exhaust crossover passage(s) isn't/aren't plugged up with carbon.
