96 Camaro, V6, 4L60E Odd problems.
Ok, so the guy tells me that as he was coming up to speed on an interstate on ramp, the trans shifted into second gear and immediately locked up the rear wheels. When the car stopped, the wheels released (downshifted back to 1st) and he was able to limp it home is 1st gear.
Car will not shift out of first either manually or automatically.
Shifting from D to R or vice versa is HARSH, but engages strongly.
If the "Second gear start" button is engaged, the car wants to move, and WILL if you push it, but it acts as though the E-brake is on.
Scanned codes, came up with a PO122 - TPS, check engine light on steady, and all fuses have been checked individually and confirmed good.
This is a real head scratcher. The car has 148K on it, the trans fluid is not the worst I have seen, but it is on the darker side, and does not stink.
Any ideas? I would really hate to think that the TPS would cause this, but... Who knows...
