Hey all, My Camaro is ok...no need to panic.
Hopefully one of you can help. I have a 96 Beretta with a 2.2, 53k miles. I just got back from a 700 mile one day trip for a funeral and now I have a heavy gas smell. I cant pinpoint it but it seems to be coming from the injection system but cant really see anything. Has any one ever had a similar problem? If so what kind of advice can you give me?

Tim

Thumbs up

If its raw gas you smell, I would think one should be able to see the leak with a very powerful flashlight and the engine running while its cold.

A hot engine will evaporate the fuel.

Fuel stains will absorb black light. Thats a good tool to use for searching down all sorts of leaks including fuel.
