My 78 rear taillights, work then don't work when I shift the car. The car was hit in the rear driver quarter panel, when I bought the car. Any help will be welcome.

I'm not following You with the "shift the car" thing...
The harness does runs down the drivers side of the car....follow it from the tail light assy's, pull it up and make sure it didn't get damaged where the quarter panel was damaged....
