well here we go again another problem. about a month ago i ,along with the help of my uncle, replaced the fuel pump in my 89 305 firebird.the pump works great, here is the problem. the fuel gauge now has a mind of its own. it will either read past full or past empty and travel between E and F while driving down the road. what did we do this time? gauge worked fine before swap. any ideas would be helpful. thanks

i assume it was an in-tank electric pump that required the removal of the tank and sender. one of the wires probably didn't get hooked up properly, or the sender got screwed up coming out or going back in. could be as simple as wiggling the connector on the top of the tank, or removing everything again to check it out.
