edelbrock avs leaking from top

Without going into too much history I noticed it seemed like my edelbrock 1806 AVS was flooding out at stoplights. So I researched a bit and took the top off to adjust the floats. They seemed to be waaaayy out of spec so I adjusted them and put it back together. Now I have fuel coming up next to the port by the metering needles and the accelerator pump. This is only happening on the drivers side. I have taken it apart again and blew carb cleaner around but didnt fix the issue. I will disassemble again tomorrow but I was hoping someone could give me a tip on what to look for (no throw away the eddie comments please)

Also I noticed that fuel continues to drip in the primaries after the engine is off. Is this normal?

I dont know what the fuel pressure is but the mechanical pump is the same one from before the problem appeared so I dont think its that.
I will test pressure at some point though

thanks
Jason

Sounds as if float(s) are still to high
Or ... A float has failed and is sinking below normal level.
