I have a 68 Camaro w/the Edelbrock Performer RPM package and an Edelbrock 750cfm carb. The car ran great last year, and would start and idle fine. This spring it started and ran fine in March one time. Since then I have tried 4 times to get this thing started to no avail.
Todat I pulled all the plugs and cleaned them off, regapped, and reinstalled. It still wouldn't start. It seems to be flooding. I also noticed a small amount of fuel leaking from the Accelerator linkage. I can't explain this, or know what to do about it. One attempt to start, I had the manual choke closed and was watching the carb as I turned the key, and saw quite a bit of fuel shoot up on top of the choke plate.
I have a newer stock fuel pump. Any suggestions.

Your needles in carb are stuck open. Try this--take off fuel line on pump that comes from tank and plug it. Now take out all plugs and clean them and then crank over motor with plugs out to blow gas out of cylinders. Reinstall plugs and try to start motor with pump still disconnected. If it starts run until it guits. Hook fuel line back up to pump and restart motor. If it runs without flooding you are good to go--if not you will have to remove carb and clean it out. ( install new fuel filter if you do this.) Hope this helps.
