i have a 68 with the original .327 and an aftermarket holley 4 barrel. in the last few days i have noticed a little less get-up-and-go along with a little noise when i accelerate. the noise sounds like someone blowing through a straw (that is the best description i could think of). it has new points, plugs, etc., and has been running fine up until a few days ago. any ideas? thanks in advance

Sounds like a vacuum line has come off. Check to see if the vacuum advance line to the distributor has come off. Check the PCV valve also to make sure its not sticking. If it has power brakes, also check the line to the booster. One more thought. Make sure the carb isn't coming loose from the intake manifold.

Be carefull, a vacuum leak will cause a lean condition and can trash a piston or two.

if you are runing one of those piece of crap addapters that adapt the square flange holley to the Q-jet style, then most likely BINGO

if you are running an edelbrock intake with the holley without the correct metal plate in between the intake and the carb... bingo

Good luck
