I have a 1985 Camaro Berlinetta with a 2.8 v-6. The in-tank electric fuel pump was replaced a few months ago by a GM dealership. Ever since I have noticed the car has to crank several times before it starts when hot after sitting for a while. The car starts right away when cold or if it has only been sitting for a few minutes hot. If the car sits for half an hour or more, it takes serveral cranks to start the engine. If I leave the car sitting overnight after driving it all day, it starts right away in the morning. I have read a lot of messages talking about a check valve in the fuel pump being the problem. Is there a check valve in this fuel pump?
Any ideas what the problem may be?

Sometimes the fuel injectors will bleed down the pressure from the line if they are leaking. Then you have to crank it until the fuel builds pressure back up
I had a 454 that did that when I worked at a shop.
It rattled my brain for a few hours and another mecanic told me to try replacing the injectors .
Well it worked.
Just a thought if nothing else works.
