My car has been sitting for about six months...it was pretty today so I went to start it and it ran TERRIBLE...wouldn't idle, gas smell, smoking, gas leaking out the carb...do I have a stuck float?the carb is practically brand new-do I have to disassemble it to fix it?I don't have good luck with that-it'll leak from now on!I changed the plugs because they were gas fouled(I think)any and all advice will be greatly appreciated-thanks!

An old trick we used to use with quardrajets was to blow in the bowl vent tube with compressed air at low pressure. Just a psstt was about all it took and would clear the idle bleed jets, kerchunk the power valve, and jar the float. I think the edelbrock carbs are q-jet design aren't they?

Anyway, if you manage to get the floats free, a can a gas treatment might be good to disolve some of the goo.
