I have a '94 Z28 with a stock LT1. It runs like a reped ape and makes shetlin ponies out of mustangs but I'm afraid it's gonna bite me soon. In normal driving conditions, if I let off the gas and then get back into it (1/4 throttle or so) it will chug for a minute. If I lace into the pedal, it'll smoke the tires and take off like a shot again and be fine. I tried to get any fault codes from the ECM but there's something stopping the ECM from giving me codes. A friend buts alot of x-police cars with the LT1 in them and says he's needed to replace the entire Opti-spark assembly for $600 (part only, no labor!!) on 4 of them at about 100,000 miles. I have 92,000 miles and a limited bank account. Does anyone have any opinions on this or had this problem? Please help!!!!
