Unhappy

Well, I deserved this one. Somehow in the hustle and bustle of the holidays, I have lost the one and only set of keys for my 69 Z. I know, I know, I should have made a spare set, but I didn't

Anyway, what are my options? How can I get a new set made? Or do I have to replace all of my locks??

Yes, I do deserve the meat head of the year award!!!

Question

Do they need to remove any of the locks?

No I didnt need to but I had to pay for a service call but if you can get one out easily then you can save the service charge but that can be a pain

they will make a code key for it...there is a way that they can find the key code and make a new one you see chevy and a ll the auto maker's only use a fixed # of key templet's each year..i know i build class 8 truck's and we do the same thing...kinda scary...cause you can by the master key's for every maker...that is how they find the code..use the master's and find the one that work's and make it from that key....i have changed my lock's on my 67 camaro to a non GM set..i bet you know why now. good luck

Thumbs up

Thanks,

I guess it's not the end of the world although a couple of hours ago I thought it was!

I will have to keep that master key thing in mind. That downright scares me. I seldom take my Z anywhere and leave it unattended and I will definitely not leave it ever again!!!

Thanks again for the info
