First question, yes.
Set the inital timing with a timing light, and at idle, you would like to see 14-16.And then setup a total of around 36, and if that is to much, back it down in two degree increments until the pinging stops.

Thumbs up

Just installed 6AL, Blaster 2, and Pro Billet Distributor - Works great!!!! Careful how you hook up tach., you may need an adapter.

I still time things the hillbilly way - Advance until it pings under load, then retard until it stops pinging. Seems to work just fine when I check it with a light.

Thumbs up

have ran msd systems for lots of years. Great products, but can cause lots of headache if you have something wrong. The tech guys at MSD in ElPaso are lifesavers for most any problem. They all know their products very well, and most of them also run them, give them a call with anything you need. They REALLY are Very helpful! If they cant get you fixed up over the phone, they will replace or repair your products, or refund you. We have found that after purchasing a system, we have never been left hanging, and anything that was ever in need of repair was done very affordable, and sometimes free. Keep your msd!
