i am swapping in a 78-4-speed trans in my 70 camaro it has the back-up lamp switch on the trans,has anyone swapped in a late model tranny in a early camaro (wiring question i guess)the normal back-up was switched using the lever on the steering column with linkage coming from trans(which i dont have?)...thanks in advance..

Look for the wires that would go to the coloum switch, light green (I think)extend these wires to the switch on the trans mission, this switch should have two terminals,

i am trying to locate all the reverse lock-out linkage and try that route ,70-81 manual trans,also looking for the bracket (saginaw 4-speed) that holds reverse linkage and lower reverse lock-out rod..thanks...
