The other day on the way home from work, my 88 2.8L camaro suddenly started sputtering, and then backfiring. I managed to get it home, replaced a worn rotor and distributor cap to rule out crossfiring and it still existed. It is backfiring through the intake too, I pulled the code and it gave me the MAP sensor, but I don't know what the thing looks like or where it is, it wasn't in my Hayes manual. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.

MAP sensor means "manifold absolute pressure" in your haynes manual you will find it under the emissions and control systems. it controls fuel delivery and ignition timing.
