Really need help 1999 3.8

Car has been in family for years. 108K. Rod knocking. Took to "experienced" mechanic. Replaced crank/1 rod. Knock gone away but has miss, cyl 2 and 5. Same coil. Changed coil, nothing. Checked Pushrods and rockers, replaced plugs and wires. Nothing. Changed all coils. Had checked the miss by pulling wires. Put on computer and the plugs are firing, but out of sequence. Replaced module. Replaced computer. Finally took to another mechanic. He said same thing. Good compression, plugs firing, 2 and 5 out of sequence. Suggested it may have wrong crank. (earlier year) Pulled engine. Right crank 2170. Swapped heads, reinstalled. Same miss.
I would have given up $ ago, but this car belonged to my baby sister who died. I want to give it to my grand daughter and it remain in family.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
