RS headlight adjustment

I just put in brand new RS headlight assemblies on my 1967 camaro. The headlight doors when shut do not line up with the grill. This seems to be a common problem with these RS cars. There are 4 mounting bolts to hold the unit in. Is there a adjustment so they don't look crooked?

Re: RS headlight adjustment

I am having the same problem. It seems to be a common problem with most of the RS's that I have seen. There doesn't seem to be any room for adjustment. Hopefully someone out there has been able to correct this problem. On mine, the top of the headlight door is tilted towards the rear of the car approx. 1/2 inch more than the bottom. Also looking at the door from the front, it needs to be turned 1 or 2 degrees. Would appreciate anyones input. Thanks

Re: RS headlight adjustment

The aim book shows you can put a shim or shims between the headlight bucket and the rad support. You can or could for that matter enlarge the four mounting holes in order to turn the housings left or right ever so slightly, you can do that in order to get that 1/16 to 1/8 or more. You probably allready know about the four screws that hold the doors on, they are for adjustments too.Hope it helps.
