1994 Z28 is stalling out

Need some help with my Z; it stalls outs after about 5-10 minuate when in idle. I have changed out fuel filter, and pump with no change.

I'm in the military and overseas and do not have all the computers to check out the vehicle. The mechanic I'm working with thinks it might be a distributor problem but I hate to tear into the car with definite diagnosis. If anyone has had this type of problem or know of a fix please let me know.

Re: 1994 Z28 is stalling out

T's 95T/A thanks for replying; to answer your questions, the car has little over 72K and I don't believe the opti has been replaced (bought the car about a year ago), the car takes couple turns before it started (reason I replaced the fuel pump). The problem happens when the car is idling and runs smooth for about 5-10 minutes and sputters out like its not getting any fuel. I'm planning to replace the opti when it comes in. Am I on the right track? If after replacing the opti the problem continues what's the next course of action?

Re: 1994 Z28 is stalling out

I was leaning twards opti or it may also be your O2 sensors when the car is idleing can you rev the car? how does it sound when you rev it while its running? Opti's tent to break up at higher rpm's. if it revs fine I would start looking at sensors like MAF and O2's. I'll look through some posts on LT1TECH.com and see if I can come up with any other suggestions. or you may want to post this problem on LT1TECH.com very good site for LT1's what branch are you in? I was in the air force myself. Good luck and
