68 Camaro wont start

Hey all,

My car will turn over but wont start. I first suspected it was the fuel pump so I prematurely replaced it without testing the old one :P After replacing it I had to pour a little gas in the carb to get it going again. I took it down the road and did notice the pedal felt a little softer and it had a quick hesitation when I punched it.

Today it did the same thing, car wont start just turns so it was obviously not the fuel pump unless my luck sucks that bad which could be the case! It was dark outside when I tried so I havent really did anything else. Again I noticed the pedal doest feel quite the same when I was pumping it.

I would like to add I am no means mechanically smart... I learn as I go never really grew up with cars that needed work on. 1st generation camaro is something I always wanted just wish I had the mechanical know all.

Suggestions I can check out when I get chance to look under the hood?

Re: 68 Camaro wont start

Check you accelerator linkage for adjustment. It also sounds like you might have a faulty accelerator pump on your carburetor.
