73 camaro won't start!!

I recently pulled my tranny and put a 3000 stall in it, wrapped my headers with thermal wrap, and installed a tranny cooler on the front of the radiater. I got it all put back together and it won't start. I have a push button starter so it turns over but it doesn't get any power anywhere. No lights, domelight nothing. Please let me know what would do this so I can get back on the track!!

Re: 73 camaro won't start!!

I think the main feed for the car on a '73 connects at the starter stud that the positive battery cable goes on. Should be one or more fuse links with a ring terminal at the end. You said you wrapped your headers so make sure it's on and tight. The fuse links are a little fragile where they splice into the copper wire. You can check them by clipping a test light onto the battery cable stud on the starter and poking the sharp end of the test light into the copper wire. If the test light lights up when you turn on the lights or try to start the car the fuse link has a break in it somewhere.

Re: 73 camaro won't start!!

The main feed is at the positive battery cable. Follow the 10 gauge wire and check for a loose connection along the line. Follow it back to the fuse box.

Re: 73 camaro won't start!!

You may have pinched a wire between the bell housing and the block while reinstalling the tranny.
