I recently pulled my tranny and put a 3000 stall in it, wrapped my headers with thermal wrap, and installed a tranny cooler on the front of the radiater. I got it all put back together and it won't start. I have a push button starter so it turns over but it doesn't get any power anywhere. No lights, domelight nothing. Please let me know what would do this so I can get back on the track!!
ok I ran a wire from my battery to my fuse box and turned the ignition on everything worked,, it started up fine,, but where is the source of the problem. Someone with more expertise please help me out,,,I hate dealing with electrical problems,,, and my car is full of that. Thanks again
I think the main feed for the car on a '73 connects at the starter stud that the positive battery cable goes on. Should be one or more fuse links with a ring terminal at the end. You said you wrapped your headers so make sure it's on and tight. The fuse links are a little fragile where they splice into the copper wire. You can check them by clipping a test light onto the battery cable stud on the starter and poking the sharp end of the test light into the copper wire. If the test light lights up when you turn on the lights or try to start the car the fuse link has a break in it somewhere.
