Exclamation Temp Gauge does'nt work

hello all, im new to this site, so if im posting this in the wrong forum im sorry, but heres my problem.

i just bought a 1994 z28 and the temp gauge will not work i dont know how hot the car is, i replaced the thermastate because when the heat was on the air was warm, now with the new thermastate the heat is hot, but the gauge still will not move. i dont even know where to start, any advise will be greatly appreciated

The sensor for the dash gauge is in the drivers side head. You could try changing that. Theres also a sensor in the water pump but it is what is used to turn the fans on. The head sensor I believe is under $25. Try that first.
