BAD vibrating

Above 40 mph and not accelerating or completely letting of the gas just trying to maintain speed they car vibrates bad. If you accelerate or let of the gas it is fine. It does have a broken motor mount I am changing next week but it does not feel like any broken motor mount I have ever felt.
Any suggestions?

Re: BAD vibrating

Check your U-bolts on the spring packs to make sure they are tight. Also check your u-joints on the driveshaft for play. Block the tires, place the car in nuetral and spin/wiggle the driveshaft. There should be no play. also make sure your engine to tranny bolts are tight. Sometimes you can pick up vibration if they are loose, usually accompanied by clanking.

Re: BAD vibrating

It sounds like your front wheels need to be balanced. Do you feel alot of vibration in the steering wheel? Have them balanced and see if that helps. Also, a good way to check your motor mounts is to power brake the motor. Open the hood and start your car. Then put it in drive and put your left foot on the brake and your right foot on the gas. Give it a little gas and see if your motor flops around. If it does, your motor mounts are bad.

Thumbs up Re: BAD vibrating

I had the same problem. Replaced the u joints and problem gone. I don't understand why u joints last only 37 years
