Drag car in need of help!!!!

Dont know why but last weekend at the track got down to 4 cars staged the car pressed the transbrake button then pressed the gas and then boom the car backfired thru the carb and then died. My theory is maybe the launch rpm is to low (3000) but I have talked to many people that say they dont think thats it. Could someone please help me.......PLEASE!!!

Too much fuel. Lower your staged rpm.

Re: Drag car in need of help!!!!

If leavin off a T-Brake try upping launch RPM to 32-3500.2800-3000 is alittle low RPM for WOT

Re: Drag car in need of help!!!!

If it happened while you were on the brake (t brake that is) its not your launch rpm, it sounds more like a carb or timing issue. You arent pulling out timing while on the brake are you? This is a motor only car?
If you said it backfired when you released the brake, then I'd suspect too low of a launch rpm.
