Horn Contact Spring?

I took the horn shroud off of my steering wheel the other day to re-align the horn buttons and I canít remember if the horn contact had a spring under it.

The two wires from the horn buttons run to a small round plug like piece that inserts into the horn contact shaft. Is there supposed to be a spring under that horn contact inside the shaft?

I just canít remember if there was one and it may have popped out when I pulled the shroud off of the wheel.

For a 69 ?
Yes there is. That is what keeps the tension on that button so it will make contact with the steering wheel.

Re: Horn Contact Spring?

Yup it is for a 69.
Now I need to look for the spring. It must of popped out when I pulled the shroud off. Thing is that my top was down so it could have popped out of the car.
Thanks for the info. The search is on.

Re: Horn Contact Spring?

Thanks for your help Park. I got lucky and found the spring stuck in my front seat.
