Re: Need Holley carb help fast??????

My thought is that if you had 6" vac with the 650 and 45 pv, now you have a larger carb that will give you less vac signal , thus you have less vac? So an 35 pv would be in order to keep from trying to open too early?? You must have a big cam? Makes sense as you say its too rich now? Hpw about accell pump action,, got any? Can you go back to 650?

Re: Need Holley carb help fast??????

Agree with DD, bigger carb, less vacuum signal. Also, need more initial advance, maybe full time vacuum to the vacuum advance, if running one.

Aslo, as Travis suggested, look for a vacuum leak. Look down airhorn and make sure fuel is not dribbling from boosters as engine is running. If it is, lower fuel level. Better to open secondaries than it is to drill primary throttle blades.

Set timing using vacuum gauge, set for max vacuum reading. Unfortunately, it may have too much initial for starter and kick back during a hot start. This is why one uses full time vacuum on advance cannister.
