Unhappy Car just started to stall and cut out

My '95 Camaro Z-28 LT-1 just started to stall and lose power. I pulled over and tried to start it but it wouldn't start. I tried again and it did crank over and idle for a few minutes but then when I pressed the gas pedal, it cut out again. I did notice when the engine cut out and the ignition was still on, the injectors were clicking eradically and my RPM needle was also fluctuating eradically. All of this while the engine had done cut off and the ignition was still on. After afew minutes I disconnected my battery and then let it sit for afew and then i reconncted the battery back. It then turned over and I was able to drive my car back home. But just as I was about 2 miles away, it started up again. Can someone please tell me what could the problem be? I did have a new fuel pump installed about 6 months ago.
