Question bad vibration

Hi every one well i have a question about my new toy its an 92 S-10 with a 4.3 v6 my uncle gave it to me and now i know why, it had a bad battery and the starter would slip out just before the engine would start so i charged the battery and it started on the second try but it felt like it was going to vibrate apart, but i dont hear any noise from the outside and i put my hand on the engine and it dident feel like it was coming from there, so i drove it around the yard and all the gears work in the auto trans but it does feel like something is holding it back, and it vibrates even worse under excelaration so i stoped shut it off then go to restart and all the starter will do is go zing and wont turn over at all well thats it any help would be great thanks.

Re: bad vibration

Possible that the motor and or tranny mounts are broken. Inspect them and change as needed. thats my 2 cents

Re: bad vibration

i did look under todey and the mounts on engine and trany look ok they are worn but look to be intact but i did notice that the cab mounts are pretty bad is it possible that the vibration is just transfering from the frame in to the cab due to the bad mounts. and the other thought i had was could the vibration come from a starter problem or fly wheel issue? oh also it did start back up today 4 times but it did still disengage a few times.any other thoughts would be great.

Re: bad vibration

If Some Body Replaced The Engine They May Have Goten A Engine Tha Had A Manual Tranny And One That Had A Externally Balanced Flywheel. That Woud Be Why Whith Just A Flexplate On Your Automatic Tranny It Would Shake Pretty Bad And Worse As You Excelerate

Re: bad vibration

thanks for the help but i dont think thats the case here the truck only has 65000 miles and im the third owner and the second is my uncle and he said the milage was only 40000 when he got it so im pretty sure the power train is all stock i dont think the engine would have been replaced within the first 40000 miles i do have some more info though i took it on the road the other day and once the thuck shifted in to 2nd the vibration got a lot better it was still there but a 100% better i dont have plates on it so i dident get to take it off my road so i couldent get it in any higher gears but in thinking the problem might be in the trans what do you all think???
