put new fuel pump on still getting gas in oil. car running rich out exhaust will burn eyes and smokes on both side of exhaust. can hear a compression leak on drivers side of engine. could this be a blown intake gasket now letting gas into engine????

Re: gas in oil

I don't think your intake gasket being bad would be the cause of gas getting into your oil however that has to be replaced for sure If indeed you do have a bad gasket. It could be that your pump or pumps on the carb are set too tight and when you shut the car off gas leaks down into the manifold and then into your engine oil.Do you smell gas after you shut the car off?An easy way to check is to have the air cleaner off when you shut the car off and have a look down into the carb to see if any gas is still leaking down or you may even see smoke coming out of carb indicating a gas leak,It's worth a try.

Re: gas in oil

r u sure there is actually fuel in the oil?
or does it just smell really really rich?
how big is ur carb?
single or dual plane manifold?
how is the ignition? (could be a weak spark and not fully igniting the fuel).
