Clunking noise on drivers side dash

I have notices a rather loud clunking noise coming from or around the drivers side inner dash or were the window meets the corner. This I thought was a chassis issue however, I think it might be something simple but I can't find it?

HELP

Re: Clunking noise on drivers side dash

this may sound silly but there could just be some thing in there rolling around and you might just have to pull it apart and see my father bought a brand new ford galixy back in the 60s and every time he turned the car there was this noise by the back quarter on the drivers side so after many times of looking under the car and in the trunk he decided to take the interior trim off an see if he could find any thing and he did a soda bottle on a string with a note inside it simply said congrats you found the problem now fix it ha ha aparently a guy at the factory must have gotten board so i guess you never know anythings possible..

how ironic i have hurd the same story!! thats funny how people do stuff like that. i even hurd that in the 60's that someone at a cadillac factory put soda bottle on a string with a note that said "are u happy u rich ba$tard u found it" and someone told me his dad in the 60's bought a brand new outboard boat and the fuel line kept getting stopped up so he cut it open and found a piece of paper with somthing written on it.
i agree with above i accidently dropped a pin in my dash and it would do the same thing, til i took it out.
