Key don't go back to lock and come out

I have a 95 camaro and a while back I had aproblem were when I shut off the car I couldn't turn the key back far enough to get it out. I messed with the wheel long enough and got it out. I went to the dealership and got a new key made and it worked fine for about 6 mounthes and now it's doing the same thing. The original key did appear to be a little bent but this new key has only been used about 6 times and has never even been in my pocket only in the ignition and the spare keybox. I don't usually use this car except for once or so a month to play. Does anyone have a solution or should I tear the steering colume apart and see if I see A problem?
Thanks
Rick F.

Has nothing to do with the key - adjust the backdrive cable from the trans that moves the lever at the bottom end of the steering column; if that lever isn't pushed all the way up by the cable, you won't be able to turn the ignition cylinder to "lock".
