Re: 68 camaro dash lights

have you tried turning on the headlights or parking lights, then twisting the know as far counter clockwise as it will go?

Have you checked the LPS fuse?

Does the light in the stock radio, heater controler, or console automatic trans shift quadrant light up?

Re: 68 camaro dash lights

It sounds like the ground wire was missed when the instrument cluster was installed. No ground, no lights. It is a loop of wire on the back of the cluster that is supposed to engage the top center cluster retaining screw. Loosen the cluster and have a look. You may have to remove the speedo cable.

Re: 68 camaro dash lights

This same ground also attaches at the high beam indicator.

Once apon a time, I put this assembly together in the wrong order. The red lens has to go on first. If it's installed between any of the metal peices it will break the ground.

Note that the dash cluster not being grounded will play hell with your turn signals and your fuel guage as well as the illuminations bulbs, but won't affect the idiot lights.

Re: 68 camaro dash lights

Also, there aren't many lights back there to begin with and they burn out easy. So you may simply have multiple burned out bulbs..........
