Exclamation Turbo 350 Troubles

Hello, I am having a bit of trouble with my tranny. It seems fine until it gets warm, when its warm it doesn't want to engage into reverse, I really have to give it some gas and even then it barely moves. Also if I am driving along in drive it will surge in and out of 3rd gear. I recently swapped the motor and had no trouble before. I have dropped the pan and replaced the filter, the old one was filled with metal shavings which I am concerned about. The only thing different on the new motor is I put headers on it. I thought it may be overheating so I put some heat sheilds on the tranny lines. The lower line had a small amount of fluid drain out when I removed it, but the top one was dry. I am thinking I may have a bad pump and am leaning toward putting a th-400 in it and forget about the current tranny. Any input will be helpful. Thanks

Re: Turbo 350 Troubles

Sounds like the direct clutch is toast - a common problem. A rebuild is the only way to fix it.
