Lincoln ls

2001 Lincoln Ls(yea I know wife's car)smells like wires burning and then smoke comes out of the air vents not much I don't think its the heater core because I don't smell antifreeze any ideas? It only happens about once a week

ford uses a resistor block to vary the speed of the fan...they are actually cooled by air passing by them in the heater duct...they have a habit of making the input wire hot...i`d start there...

Before i got hurt i worked at a ford lincoln mercury dealer for about 15 years. I did not ever run into that problem with a ls. They have many other problems but have not heard of this one. Is it a dual zone system?

there are 2 kinds of cars i hate working on- Lincoln and Cadillac..
right when you think you've isolated whatever electrical gremlin you have, it pops up somewhere else.

you don't plan sincerity.
you have to make it up on the spot.

wanna hear about 20 years ago when i was too smart to know any better?

Ya know, Fords tend to burn these days. It's been in the news too. I'd be talking to a shop/dealer. Lot's of recalls too.

took car to shop today keep it all day couldnt find anything brought it home before she got out the radio quit check lights came on car died and wont crank checked battery volts = 9.2 put on jump box car started started back to shop and it died put on jump and left it on till we got to the shop PS my other car is a caddie
