Hugger Orange with Green Interior

Unusual color combo - hugger orange RS Z/28 with white stripes and green interior:

Here's the ad link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/?cmd=...m=290743022327
Can't be sure that it's the original color scheme, as no pictures were provided of trim tag, but the vin plate is shown:

Some minor things (e.g. shifter/boot, missing some pedal trim, no rocker blackout, etc) and the use of the word COPO in the title stood out as an attention-grabber, but it seems like an interesting car, and not sure why someone would put that color interior in an orange car unless it was original (or they were color-blind).

1969 04A Van Nuys-built Z/28. Cortez Silver with dark blue interior and VE3. Raced at Lions in LA. Now restoring!

Good spot Garth - same car, different pics. Wonder if it's the same seller, as the current eBay listing (and the seller's own website) don't show the trim tag or pad stamp pictures.
And yep, looks like Charlie Brown did like a visit to the strip now and then

That combo was ugly back then and it is still is ugly now! I bet the combo was made up and not factory. The car may have been Bronze, Gold or Green I am guessing.

Re: Hugger Orange with Green Interior

From the pics in the link I provided, Trim tag looks legit to me... 723, 72 72. Speaking of legit, how 'bout the engine and that DZ stamp ?

Re: Hugger Orange with Green Interior

maybe in 1970, maybe ...........
I'd swap out all the green. it does'nt work, I like white interior or black.
the bright reds are also a bit much for me, they do however work on certain color combos.............unlike this.

Re: Hugger Orange with Green Interior

Jeeez, I have the worst color sense in the world (so my wife says) but that thing is hideous!!! Who let that out of the factory? Didn't they have certain color combos which were forbidden? If not, they should have.
