Engine pad stamp help

I need some help. I’ve got a stamp code for my engine. Bought it knowing was restamped. Trying to post it for you all to look at. There’s a few letters you can make out under restamp and trying to figure out what engine came out of if possible.

In order to post full size pics without limitations, you either have be a paying member here or go through a photo hosting site. I prefer imgur https://imgur.com/ and am here to help you out if needed. flikr is another common hosting site used by many here.

Re: Engine pad stamp help

Looking at ID stamp could this be a VI2I0HH looks like the A is stamped over an H but at beginning I see a faint V just under the I. Vin number looks pretty uniform. Its all gotta be re stamped though. No other way.

Re: Engine pad stamp help

EXCELLENT PICS ! I see what you're saying, but can't offer much help otherwise. I assume the VIN matches your car ? That does look legit to me. I'm no expert. There wasn't an HH code as far as I know.

BTW, You can post the pic directly here by clicking on the BBCode button, then paste it in your post.

Re: Engine pad stamp help

I'm stumped on Vin verse Code. With correct vin. why mess with code? Agree vin. looks better than code. Found HH belongs full size Chevy 300hp 350 with turbo 400 trans. Few other HH listed as 327 but date are wrong. The full size chevy description fits with block casting date. I don't know? Very confussing trying to figure what someone was trying to do or what engine belonged to originally. As it reads now, numbers match protecto plate along with rest of running gear, but with restamp I know something has been done for a reason and probable not a good reason

Re: Engine pad stamp help

Either a HH or a HN, no way to tell at this point. The extra V is just a stamper bounce.
They did a nice job with the VIN.

Re: Engine pad stamp help

In my opinion both of the stamps are fake.

Re: Engine pad stamp help

Is the transmission "numbers matching" ? If so, please post a pic of the VIN. Genuine engine and trans partial VIN's should be very similar as they were stamped at the same time from the factory.

HA Suffix From the Available Sources

HA 1969 350 manual trans 300 4 A F X

HH would have been TH400 trans Full Size Car

Never thought to compare vinís. Noticed same spacing between 1 & 9 also between 6 & 1. Little wider spacing between these numbers. Fonts look same. Conclusion? Printed both numbers and compared side by side and they look exactly the same.

The transmission may be original or maybe also restamped.

The engine stamping was an attempt to pass it off as the numbers match born with engine
