Question about early American Racing wheels

How can you tell 70's vintage 200S A/R wheels from the knock offs? Were there a lot of companies that make look alikes of the original 200S Coke bottle/daisy wheels? I've seen "American Racing Equiptment" cast on the back of some and not on others. Anyone running a set of the old 200S? I think that they shout 70's muscle.

Here's a site that has some good information about the original 200-S wheels. Scroll down to the section labeled "Other American Racing Equipment wheels."

http://www.roadsters.com/wheels/

On the original 200-S wheels, the valve stems are mounted further back. On the current version, the valve stems are mounted closer to the outside edge of the rim. The current wheels also have an extra "lip" that surrounds the five spokes adjacent to the rim.

To see photos of vintage 200-S wheels on a 1967 Camaro, check post #3 here:

I know that the Western Wheel company made a knock off of those wheels in the late
70's. I'm pretty sure the Western Wheels had a "W" cast in the back or they had Western Wheel cast in them. The spokes were less Coke bottle shaped then the Americans if I recall.

I remember US Wheels had their version which I believe was a direct copy, except they didn't say American Racing on the inside.
You could always tell the difference between them and AR wheels because the casting was a much tighter grain on the AM wheels and real loose on the US wheels.
