front shock question

there are a lot of high end choices for shocks for sure!!!but for the money, is a monroe sensatrac shock a decent shock for my 79 driver???i was looking at the edelbrocks, but 80 bucks a piece isnt in the cards right now...kyb`s are 38 a piece, and thats better, but i can get the sensatracs at napa tomorrow...maybe the future holds a set of edelbrocks, but for now, what do the "cost conscious" guys use...yeah i`m cheap...i aint tryin to hide it...lmao...

Red face Re: front shock question

The edelbrock's are probably great for racing, but may be too stiff for a daily driver. I am in the process of putting my old Monroe's, back on my car, as my current KYB's are too stiff. I started thinking about it, after some other's started complaining about their KYB's. I think the monroe's will be a good choice.

Re: front shock question

hey mike i just put the monroes on my 67 and they feel good to me. front tires used to rub when i went over a big hump like the railroad tracks. NO more. seems to of stiffend up the front too. they may not last as long as some others but hey i dont put 12,000 miles a year on it either thats how i looked at it.

Re: front shock question

i think you'll be happy with the sensa-tracs for the money. i've got a ton of money in my car right now, and haven't changed mine cuz they've only got a thousand miles and work great for street cruising. after i wear them out, i'll get the varishock quickset 1's to match my current rear shocks. whatever you go with, have fun with it!
