Rack n pinion options?

Hey guys,

I am looking at replacing my stock GM manual steering box with a power Rack n pinion steering system in my 69 coup. I have a 396 BB, column shift turbo 350 and have installed the Hotchkis TVS lower kit front and back with sway bars. I am hoping to spend around $3,000 parts and labor. What i have looked at so far is the Flaming river rack system and plan on replacing the column with the flaming river tilt column, eliminating the column shifter and putting shifter on the floor. For future i am planning on a TKO600 5 Speed, hense switching the shifter to the floor so i don't have to replace the column later. I also know that i will need new headers. Looking for feed back from anyone that has put the flaming river rack system in their car and what headres they went with or other options. Thanks in advance for any insite or advise.

Re: Rack n pinion options?

why rack and pinion instead of a good steering box?
