Replacing Rear Springs

I will be replacing the rear springs on my 67 soon. Thinking of just putting on new mono leafs, but I am open to suggestions. Where is the best place to buy new springs? Any suggestions on any time saving tips, is always appreciated. I am planning on pulling the gas tank, as I need to paint the rest of the underside.

Re: Replacing Rear Springs

It depends on what you want to do with your car. To stay original or not. To lower or not to lower. I have a 69 that had monos. I didn't want to spend a lot of money and didn't want to have to do any modifications. Originality was not a must but wanted to bring up my saggy rear. I went with the 3 leaf mono replacement springs from JCW at $70 ea. They are stock height but are listed for late 60's early 70's Nova. Went in with now problems. I just followed the advice that I got from so many posts in this section. It will be a lot easier for you that you have the gas tank out. I am a novice so I left mine in. It would have been easier with it out. There are a lot of other good springs out there you just have to decide what fits you best. And your pocketbook. Time saving tip PB Blaster on the nuts and bolts a few days prior to removal. And since you'll have it all apart I suggest replacing the 6 front spring pocket J-nuts/clip nuts (CIP). This topic has been covered extensively in this section, do a search.
