Brakes, spindles, springs

Hello - I wanted to get some opinions before I pull the trigger on my set up. I have a 1967 RS coupe with a SBC (alum heads) and Vintage Air. I plan to fit the car with the following wheels:

Front: 17"x8" with 5.0" bs on 245/40's
Back: 17"x9.5" with 5.5" bs on 275/40's

I also plan to stop the car with Wilwood Dynalite Pro Series brake kit in all 4 corners.

I have read about the debate on spindles vs. springs to lower the car and it seems that springs are the preferred choice. I am looking for about a 1" drop in the front. I do not want the car on the ground, but I do not like the stock look. So, I am thinking 1" drop in the front and maybe 1.5" in the rear. I have stock drum spindles and springs on the front and rear (mono leaf) on the car now. I recently had the entire frontend rebuilt with original rubber bushings and OE parts to have a level of comfort to please the rest of my family.

Here are my questions:
1. Can anyone see problems with my tire and wheel set up as far as rubbing?
2. Any problems with my brake choice?
3. What front springs are recommended for the weight described above for a 1" drop? I'm looking for a nice handle with a comfortable ride.
4. What springs are recommended for the rear...the engine dynos at a little over 500hp?

I would install adjustable spring cans in front and use short roundy-round springs and dial in the front ride height.

As for the rear, lowering blocks if you like your mono's ride now would be the cheapest and easiest.

I say this b/c we just CAN'T guarantee rear ride height after a leaf spring switch?????????????

For rates, fronts stock are like 327 to 337 or so and rears are like 125 to 135 so pick springs some stiffer if you want a more sporty ride?? Just use these numbers as a way to judge stock is all....

How far am I off David???

I use the same brakes at all four. Like em! they will go on the spindles you have.
