Booster Swap

I am going to be swapping out my old 11" booster for a new one. Is it simply a matter of removing the 2 bolts holding the master cylinder and moving the master cylinder forward so that I have enough room to rotate the old booster out with the rod sticking out the back? How far can you shove the master cylinder forward while it is still connected to it's plumbing?

Am I better off just removing the master cylinder completely?

Re: Booster Swap

Don't have to completely remove the MC. There's enough movement in the lines to get enough clearance. Can loosen the strap that holds the lines to the subframe bracket if needed. The trickiest part will be gettting to the two outboard nuts that hold the booster to the firewall.

Driving a #s-matching Z in the rain..... and lovin' it....

Re: Booster Swap

I saw those two sweeties. It's my birthday tomorrow, maybe I will buy a set of those rachet box wrenches that have the semi circular handles.

thanks Dave
