brake spindles

I need to find brake spindles (either disk or drum) for my 69 camaro w/ a wilwood kit. All the used spindles I find have a lot of outer bearing wear. Maybe buying new spindles are the answer. Should I avoid the chineese made spindles? Are there any made in the "USA" for a reasonable cost? Thanks again.....!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: brake spindles

I have heard the Master Power Brake spindles are pretty good, don't know if they are US made.

Re: brake spindles

It's the same MBM spindle that every one else purchases. Nothing wrong with them that I have seen. I've used a ton with out problems.

Re: brake spindles

Most every vendor buys MBM Chinese spindles that I know of.
Interesting that Master Power is selling the "High Tech" Chinese tubular A arms that seem to be so popular on here.

I guess there's one lesson to be learned here, you can buy those arms on Ebay for about $300 or pay Master Power $1000! Nice profit margin if you ask me.

Re: brake spindles

Thanks for the info. My car is not 100% orginal, so if the spindles look a little different than stock it's ok. I just need to find something so I can put my car back together. It's still cold in Wisconsin, but summer is around the corner (I hope)..... A

Re: brake spindles

You might want to try Heidts, I know they have their spindles made and I think they are made in the USA. I have a set I bought for my 70 Nova. I bought dropped spindles but, they offer standard ones as well.

Re: brake spindles

I found these for sale on the web. I've never heard of the brand "helix", but I assume their made in china. My main issue with chineese spindles is the quality of metal that they are made with. I'm no expert, just a guy that wants to drive a safe camaro !!!

"Helix uses the latest in CAD/CAM technology to design the 1964-1972 GM A Body Stock Spindle, ensuring a long life and smooth operation. Helix spindles are one piece drop-forged 4140 steel. Be aware of unsafe, cheap castings that are prone to snapping off, creating a deadly situation in a moving vehicle.New replacement stock height spindles fit 1964-72 GM A-body cars like Chevelle, LeMans, Cutlass and Skylark".
