Help with TVS install

I am in the middle of installing the second half of my Hotchkis TVS kit, and I ran into a snag.. The original shocks were coil over shock... [at least that is what is on there now].. but the new ones are not.. The instructions I got say NOTHING about re using the old spring or not in the rear... and I figured if I had to re use it I should have gotten new ones in the TVS kit? As I got front...

Can anyone confirm if I need to use my old rear springs on the new shocks {which seems stupid to me?} or are the new shocks [Bilsteins] good enough by themselves with the leaf springs? without the springs overtop?

Thanks a TON!

Re: Help with TVS install

Use the new rear shocks without the coil-over springs. They were probably a band-aid to help a sagging rear suspension.

Re: Help with TVS install

You DO NOT need coil springs on the back with the leafs. As BPOS mentioned, those are some kind of helper spring. UGH!

You have everything you need

Call me if you need anything at all.

Re: Help with TVS install

Thanks Frank, you were a great help in the whole process of just ordering it.
I had a feeling that it wasn't stock like that.. it looked really weird...
The guy who had it restored ran out of money.. so some things are finished beautifully, but then small things I keep finding aren't finished [The interior light was up and in, but he didnt put the terminal in. just bare wires... AND.. the battery was in there, in the package.. hahah..
Just like stuff like that..

Thanks a ton for your help!!!
