X2 but ive been told that the carb may be better and it depends on the intakes vacuum location. Mine is on the intake but im gonna switch it to the carb.

Are you using a PCV Valve also? I found that booster vac.is best from the intake, PCV from the 3/8 port on the throttle plate.

Re: Where to Pull Brake Booster Vacuum?

Cool thanks guys!! Does anyone know why when my car is idling I can unplug the brake booster vacuum and the idle increases? I am going to get a vacuum gauge to see what i am getting.

Re: Where to Pull Brake Booster Vacuum?

Because the diafram inside the booster pulls to a certain position and "holds" the level of vacuum (lower).Once you pull it off,the engine vacuum has nothing to limit it.With the line off the booster (engine idleing) the RPM'S increase because the raw vacuum has now activated the advance weights in the distributor adding more RPM'S.

How does a vacuum leak cause the advance weights to move?

Re: Where to Pull Brake Booster Vacuum?

The vac leak is adding air to the engine (just like opening the butterflies in the carb). More air more RPM (albeit not metered air) so it is leaning out some too which also raises RPM.

Re: Where to Pull Brake Booster Vacuum?

So I got a vacuum gauge and check vacuum at the booster and I am getting 8psi at idle. That doesn't sound good to me??

Are you connected to vac below the throttle blades?
