69 upper ball joint bolts

I am putting in new moog upper ball joints, is it ok to use grade 5 nuts and bolts for the 4 bolts that hold them in place, and they came with 1/4 28, is it ok to use 1/4 20 chrome grade 5 thanks Jerry

No. These are critical suspension bolts you want to use grade 8 bolts.

Use the same rating as the bolts Moog sent. I have used grade 5 bolts on my rear suspension because the guy that sold me my springs sold them to me. He reasoning is a grade 5 will bend and a grade 8 might break. Under most normal driving there is not much load on those bolts but I think I would want what Moog sent for the abnormal driving conditions. JMHO
