Drop spindles or drop springs?

If I want to lower the front end of my 69, what is the best way to accomplish this - 2" drop spindles or 2" drop springs? I have no experience with either, so you guys that have tried them what works best and why?

I think it depends on what size wheel you plan on using. 15" go with springs, 17" you can use the spindles. 15" with spindles you'll have tie rod ends hitting the wheels

I think I would go with springs over spindles, seen to many posts about the bad effects of drop spindles. If you do a search for drop spindles there are few posts about the topic. I went with a qa-1 adustable coil over conversion kit, its a little more than just springs but sometimes 2 inchs is to much etc... and this kit lets me get the ride height i want upto a 2' drop.

I agree on the QA-1's.

The only Mustang I'd ever own is a Fender.

Springs for sure. Drop spindles can get you into trouble. See the sticky under suspension regarding issues with drop spindles.

I have QA1 coilovers and I was wondering how low I'll be able to go with this setup on tubular control arms. I was considering drop spindles, but it sounds like that isn't a good option based on what I'm reading here. Can you guys post some pics of your QA1s on 17's so I can get an idea on ride heighth?

SPRINGS

Drop spindles don't use your brake rotors,pads,calipers....you'll need all that too. (unless someone has a "new style out" ?)

what's all involved in switching to coil overs if you already have GW upper cont.arms and stock lowers ?

Drop Spindles are not the best choice for lowering a car, they can affect turning and handling in a negative way. A better method for stance and handling is to lower the car using geometry corrected A-arms along with lowering springs. That way the car will sit right and handle well. Even just springs and bars will give the car a good solid stance and improve handling... and when you're ready you can upgrade with additions like a-arms.
